About
This site started the same way the book did: because the cats wouldn't let me stay quiet.
The moments kept happening — small, stubborn things that demanded to be noticed. They piled up in the notebook until the notebook wasn't enough. The love was too much, the affection too insistent. Writing became the only way to hold onto it all.
The Unwritten Contract: Notes on Living with Cats happened because I couldn't not write it. The pages filled themselves. Now those pages live here too, spilling out into these notes, because some things are too good to stay locked away.
No grand plan. No strategy. Just love that sneaked up and refused to let go.
If you love them the way I do — if the quiet watching matters to you — then this is for you.
Hard to tell if the cats care that we write about them. Probably us who need the writing more.
That's enough, isn't it.
